Ecclesiastes 3:11
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
This passage must have been well-known to most Christians. These past few weeks, I have been reminded to how we ought to stay believing and to keep our faith up; even when we experience circumstances that we might not want and not fully comprehend of why those situations took place.
I had the opportunity to visit and minister a small church in a small town few weeks ago. It was truly a powerful and memorable ministry. Four days before my departure to that town, God put a new song in my heart, “Beautiful in His time.” At that very moment, I did not understand why He gave me that song, but I was believing that God would never give and let something happens without a divine purpose behind it. On my way to that town, I was told about what most people in that church were facing at that time. They were having financial difficulties, being jobless for few weeks already. Listening to their stories, I started to realize how God has provided a song of encouragement and comfort for them. During the service, I ended my testimony by singing my new song. Just when we sang the first line of the song, I saw tears falling down and I witnessed how God touched their lives individually.
Once, a mother came to me and testified how she strive to remain faithful to God during her time of tribulation. Few years ago, she was informed that her two years old daughter has autism. Her husband left her and daughter upon hearing the doctor’s diagnose. Above all, she was evicted from her house for being 3 months late in paying her rent. In such stressful situation, she prayed, “Lord, I might not understand why I have to go through all this extremity, but despise these all, I choose to trust in You!”
I was simply amazed. How many of us can say such prayer in such condition?
The book of Ecclesiastes 3 says that there is a right time to cry and another to laugh, a right time to hold and another to let go. One thing for sure, He has and will make everything beautiful in its time.
